Welcome to the Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) Department Website.

21st century has been a turnpoint in human history where computer systems have gained ubiquity and triggered a digital renaissance that spanned all around the globe. Computer Education and Instructional Technology Departments have been launched in numerous universities in the Republic of Turkey in 1998 as part of an initiative to investigate the methods through which education may be enhanced through computational intervention and to help increase the number of experts that view education as a technological process. Graduates from these departments are also the primary source for K12 computer science teachers in Turkey.

Our department, which has been founded in 2008 under Trakya University School of Education, aims to help our students pursue liberal and professional development through a 4-year program that encompasses both pedagogical and technological learning tracks. Our students who successfully finish this interdisciplinary program; which comprises a synthesis of theories and practices from fields of pedagogy, psychology, engineering and communication; gain the means to be employed not only as K12 computer science teachers but also as experts in IT industry.

We encourage all our prospective students to reach us, not only through digital means but also face to face in our historically significant and student-friendly town of Edirne, and learn more from our staff of instructors about the learning experience that await them here in CEIT.

I would also like to inform all parties of interest that, for the purpose of seeking common good, CEIT is always open to suggestion in terms of joint efforts for academic or educational events, seminars, projects and the like.
